How a fragrance changes over time

Why the scent you try first isn’t always the one you live with.

A fragrance is not a single, fixed smell. It develops. The lightest, most volatile parts evaporate first, and the deeper ones emerge later, which is why a fragrance can feel different after ten minutes, an hour or several hours.

Give it time on your skin

Paper strips are a quick way to get a first impression, but skin changes things. Warmth, natural oils and even diet can influence how a fragrance develops. If you can, apply a little to your skin and let it settle before deciding.

Why longevity varies

How long a scent stays noticeable depends on the fragrance itself, its concentration, your skin, the weather and how it is applied. For that reason, you won’t find promised hours at Yaarden. The honest answer is that it varies, and the best test is your own experience.

Choosing with patience

Wear a sample for a full day before committing. Notice the opening, the heart and what remains in the evening. A fragrance you still enjoy at the end of the day is probably a good fit.
