Privacy Policy
Effective 2 November 2026
A clear account of personal information, your choices and your rights.
1. Who this notice covers
This notice covers personal information connected with Yaarden’s catalogue, personal enquiries and directly arranged purchases in South Africa. Yaarden is responsible for information it collects for those purposes. Hosting and sign-in providers also process information under their own notices.
There is no Yaarden enquiry form, customer account, newsletter sign-up or online checkout. For privacy matters, speak to Hanro in person or use your existing private enquiry or purchase channel. The responsible supplier’s legal identity, address and business contact details must be provided before a transaction or further personal information is requested. No private address is published here.
2. Information involved
Hosting and security services may process IP addresses, device and browser details, page requests, timestamps, errors and authentication information needed to deliver and protect the site. An owner-private preview uses the hosting platform’s sign-in, separate from Yaarden’s catalogue.
When you enquire or buy directly, Yaarden may receive your name, contact details, scent preferences, messages, order details, agreed price, payment confirmation and handover arrangements. Supply only what is needed. Do not send identity documents, medical histories, passwords or card credentials with an enquiry.
3. Purposes and lawful grounds
Information is used to answer questions, suggest options you request, confirm availability, administer an agreed purchase, match payment to an order, arrange handover and resolve complaints. Records may also be required for accounting, legal duties, fraud prevention or legal claims.
Processing depends on the purpose: requested pre-contract steps, performance of an agreement, legal obligations, legitimate interests that respect your rights, or consent where required. Buying or enquiring does not subscribe you to marketing. Yaarden will not sell personal information or use it for unrelated advertising.
4. Choice and minimal collection
You can browse, search and use Find Your Scent without supplying a name or phone number. Search and guide answers are handled in the page and are not submitted to a Yaarden database. Enquiries are voluntary; without the details necessary to confirm an order or communicate, Yaarden may be unable to fulfil it.
You may withdraw consent where it is the processing basis, without undoing earlier lawful use. Information obtained for one purpose will not automatically be repurposed for something unrelated.
5. Cookies, clipboard and external services
Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled on the public website to help Yaarden understand visits and page performance. Reports include page views, referring sites, device and browser types, country-level information and loading metrics. Cloudflare describes this service as privacy-first and states that it does not collect or use visitors’ personal data. Read about it at https://developers.cloudflare.com/web-analytics/about/. Yaarden does not add advertising pixels. Hosting, security and any private-preview authentication may separately use technical logs or essential storage.
The current catalogue does not read or write your clipboard. A business WhatsApp link, if enabled later, opens an external service with the displayed message text; WhatsApp’s own privacy rules then apply. No public WhatsApp number is currently configured.
6. Recipients and international handling
Hosting and security providers handle technical information. Where needed for an agreed order, communication, payment, accounting or delivery providers may receive the details necessary for their task. Information may also be disclosed when legally required or necessary for a genuine dispute. Private conversations and customer lists are not published.
Providers may process information outside South Africa. International handling must have a lawful POPIA transfer basis and appropriate protection. Providers describe their independent processing in their notices: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy/ and https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/. Yaarden does not control those independent purposes.
7. Retention and security
Enquiry details are kept only as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry or requested follow-up. Transaction and complaint records are retained for applicable legal, accounting and dispute needs, then deleted or de-identified. A deletion request does not override a lawful retention duty. Providers determine retention for their own technical logs.
Business-record access should be limited to people who need it, with appropriate device and account protections. No system promises absolute security. If a compromise affects personal information, Yaarden will assess it and make notifications required by POPIA.
8. Your rights and complaints
You may request access to personal information Yaarden holds about you, correction, deletion where permitted, or object to qualifying processing. Ask Hanro directly or through your existing private purchase channel. Identity may be verified proportionately before information is disclosed. Requests follow applicable POPIA and PAIA procedures and time limits; lawful refusals or retention requirements will be explained.
You may complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator at https://inforegulator.org.za/complaints/ or POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za. Its current general contact details are at https://inforegulator.org.za/contact-us/. A purchase is not required to raise a privacy concern.
9. Children and updates
The site does not solicit children’s personal information. Do not provide a child’s information without a lawful reason and necessary authority. A parent or guardian may raise a concern with Hanro.
This notice will be updated when actual features or practices change. The effective date identifies the version. A policy edit alone does not authorise a new purpose requiring additional notice or consent.
